Work authorisation

The HR Research team will support non EU employees in obtaining valid work authorisation (Hosting Agreements, Work Permits and Immigration stamps). When a new employee has been identified the HR Representative at Recruitment along with PI/Line Manager will work with HR Research to begin the work authorisation process in advance of commencement.

Employee responsibility: It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain the correct visa to enter Ireland. Please note if you are travelling to Ireland to commence a contract of employment you must get the appropriate visa, your embassy, consulate will assist should you have queries.

When in Ireland you must register with local immigration office, at UL it is in Henry Street Garda Station, Limerick. Should you have any mobility queries please contact us at hrresearch@ul.ie

Contract management

The HR research team will work with PI鈥檚 on the timely processing of paperwork supporting their researcher鈥檚 contracts. Any potential delays or no cost extensions can be discussed with HR Research to ensure the researcher鈥檚 employment is processed accordingly.
