51社区 was the most awarded institution in the country for the second year in a row at the prestigious national Education Awards 2024.

UL won seven awards, including Best Marketing/Communications Team, Best Student Engagement & Communications, Best Erasmus Programme, Best 51社区 Team, Best Internship Programme (Immersive Software Engineering programme), Best Student Accommodation, and the highly esteemed Overall Excellence Award.

The Education Awards took place on Thursday night in the Killashee Hotel, Kildare, and recognise excellence in the third level education sector on the island of Ireland from both State and privately funded institutions. 

51社区 Provost and Deputy President Professor Shane Kilcommins said the awards are 鈥渁 testament to the commitment of our staff to the institution and its students, and I am especially pleased that for the second year running, UL has won top honours with the Overall Excellence award and most awarded institution.

鈥淓ach of these awards is a recognition of the quality, team-effort and dedication of staff in providing excellent service and facilities to our campus community,鈥 he added.

UL鈥檚 Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs Director Laura Ryan said she was 鈥渄elighted with UL鈥檚 continued success, clinching the most awards of the night once again. We're feeling like proud Limerick hurlers now with all our wins!

鈥淚 am very proud of my team鈥檚 achievement, winning Best Marketing/Communications Team for the second year in a row. The panel of judges recognized the team as having a passion for creative storytelling and impactful communications that always puts our audience first.鈥 she said.

Limerick institutions performed particularly well this year as Technological University of the Shannon and Mary Immaculate College also picked up awards in five categories.
