Working better together for more effective, efficient, and equitable cancer research and care

Over the past two decades, cancer has become the leading cause of death in Ireland, presenting a significant disease burden on society. A new case is diagnosed in the EU every 9 seconds. Currently, cancer ranks as the second leading cause of mortality after cardiovascular disease, poised to overtake it as the primary cause. This burden impacts our health and social care systems, government budgets, and the productivity and growth of a healthy workforce. By 2040, global new cancer cases are expected to nearly double to around 30 million each year. Importantly, many cancers are preventable, with potential mortality reduction of up to 60% through prevention and early detection.

In collaboration with All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI), The Business Post is thrilled to announce the inaugural All-Island Cancer Summit on May 14, 2025. This 1-day event will convene policymakers, leading academics, scientists, health professionals, private sector and NGO representatives, as well as cancer patients and survivors, to share personal testimonials and perspectives. Together, we鈥檒l discuss the future of cancer research and care across the island of Ireland, focusing on policy developments, innovations, and the delivery of care.

Book a ticket to gain insights into policy advancements, innovative research, early diagnosis techniques, novel treatments, and the transformative technologies that are shaping the oncology landscape.
