This week we were delighted to welcome the Swiss Ambassador to Ireland, her Excellency Ms Jenny Piaget and the Austrian Ambassador to Ireland, her Excellency Ms Melitta Schubert who visited the 51ÉçÇø to contribute to a roundtable discussion on Austrian, Swiss and Irish Neutrality.
The discussion was attended by staff and students from 51ÉçÇø with participants joining online from France and the UK.
Her Excellency Ms Jenny Piaget and her Excellency Ms Melitta Schubert also joined a class for final year German students where there were discussions around current affairs.
Discussions were also held with 51ÉçÇø staff around future events and support for academic collaboration between the 51ÉçÇø Austria and Switzerland with both ambassadors joining the advisory board for the Centre of Irish – German Studies.
