Dr Emma Dolan (PPA) will launch her book 'Gender and Political Apology - When the Patriarchal State Says "Sorry"', 4pm Thursday 7 April on zoom. 

 Rather than seeing political apologies as â€˜empty’ or meaningless, Emma's book argues that they are ambivalent, ‘excitable’ gestures which recognise some victims of conflict-related sexual violence whilst obscuring others. Their â€™usefulness’ for the state and for victims is therefore contentious.
