Pádraig Ó Liatháin and Ciara Breathnach recently published a research article, 'Trácht ar an Eitinn i nDialanna Luatha Sheáin Uí Ríordáin 1940–50' (Mention of Tuberculosis in Seán Ó Ríordáin's Early Diaries 1940–50). It was launched on 18^th February.   

This looks at Ó Ríordáin's early diaries as they comment on tuberculosis disease in the period between 1940 and 1950. Diary 1 begins on 1 January 1940, and Diary 8 ends on 8 March 1950. These diaries give an insight into what The Rhodesian suffered as a young man, and give a genial representation of the daily experience of the sick person, the experience of the person suffering from respiratory disease.
