REPPP
REPPP Team in Athens
Thursday, 25 September 2025

Members of the REPPP team, along with our Stable Lives Safer Streets colleagues in Queens University, presented some of our youth justice research at the annual European Society of Criminology conference in Athens last week.

Edel Kelly presented on our action research project which combined research and practice wisdom to develop a relationship model of practice for youth justice practitioners in Ireland.

Kylie Gill presented her phd study on how the availability of and access to support systems during the transition from out-of-home care might influence care leavers’ contact with the criminal justice system.

Dr Eoin O’Meara Daly and Helen Fitzgerald facilitated a Roundtable discussion with European policymakers and researchers about the challenge of, and responses to, the recruitment of young people into criminal drugs networks in Europe.

Dr Antoinette Keaney-Bell and Dr Colm Walsh of Queens presented on the use of GIS analysis to explore the potential buffering effects of youth work provision in areas of elevated violent crime.

Dr Catherine Naughton presented on the Twinsight Methodology used to understand the social drivers of children and young people’s offending behaviours.

It was a great opportunity to connect with, and learn from, other researchers and policymakers dealing with the many complex issues of youth crime.
