The Irish World Academy invites you to SOLSTICE, an annual community gathering, celebrating all faiths and none in this coffee morning of music, dance, and hospitality, with all funds going to a designated charity. This year's event will support the Corpus Christi Community Choir and will take place on the 4th of December at 10.30am in the Irish World Academy foyer. The Corpus Christi Community Choir is an open group welcoming all parents and community members who wish to participate. The idea for the choir originated from the community itself, and it has grown to include 20 active participants. As an open group, the choir encourages regular attendance and commitment, but there are no formal membership requirements, members simply join in whenever they are able. Performances and choir outings provide members with a sense of achievement, empowerment, and increased confidence. Singing together fosters strong social connections, supports positive community collaboration, reduces social isolation, and helps build lasting friendships among participants. The choir is led by Musical Director Sarah Alley and supported by Community Companion Anne Marie O鈥機onor, who work together to create an inclusive, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all participants. The project is supported by UL who funded it's inception through a President's Community Engagement Fund and by research tled by Sarah Alley and Prof Hilary Moss, Music Therapy at Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.
